Finishing Strong: Thanking the Professors Who Went the Extra Mile

As the spring semester wraps up, it’s a great time to reflect — not just on finals or earned credits, but on the people who helped us get here. Behind every long paper and tough exam were professors who showed up, stayed late and guided us with patience and purpose.

Let’s give a sincere thank-you to those who made time outside of class, opened their doors — virtually or in person — and checked in on our well-being. Their dedication goes beyond the syllabus and helps shape our college experience.

Not sure how to show appreciation? A heartfelt email can go a long way. Be specific about how they helped you. If you’re comfortable, give them a shoutout on social media or nominate them for a campus teaching award. Even a handwritten thank-you note can make a lasting impact.

As we head into summer, don’t forget to show gratitude to the professors who made a difference. A little appreciation can go a long way — and they deserve every bit of it.
