Graduation to-do list
Graduation is approaching faster than ever, but don’t worry, here is a list of what you should do before wearing the graduation cap and gown.
1. Reflect on your Academic Journey: Look at all the challenges you overcome, your accomplishments, and the lessons you have learned. You should be proud of yourself!
2. Connect: Contact your professors, and advisors who helped you in your college journey, thank them for their guidance, and ask them for advice for your transition to the next step of your life!
3. Network: If you haven’t begun yet, it’s the perfect time to reach out to professionals in your field and even attend some career fairs, alumni gatherings, and other types of events that are going to help you make connections with the professional world and explore all the opportunities you can get.
4. Update your Resume: Touch up your resume and update it with all your latest experiences, skills, and accomplishments. Tailor it for the professional world and you can even be creative depending on your field of interest.
5. Apply for a Job, Further Education, or Plan a Trip: Start researching for your plan: what do you want to do next: Education? Work? Trip? Whatever you feel you want to do, you should plan it!
6. Celebrate with your Friends and Family: It’s not every day that you are going to graduate, so celebrate with your close circle, you should be proud of yourself you did a great job and it needs to be celebrated!
7. Plan for the Future: What are your long-term goals? Think about it and even create a roadmap of your wishes for your future career and/or academic career and highlight your objectives.
8. Take care of Yourself: Graduation seem stressful and overwhelming? Take a step back, take a break, and take care of yourself, it’s important that you benefit from this event and prioritize your self-care.
9. Stay Hydrated: What else to say… Water is life, water is good, and it clears your mind.
10. Embrace the present moment: Savor the present moment and cherish it, theses may be your last days of college experience, so appreciate it. You’ll remember graduation as a sweet memory later!
